ACADEMY TESTING 2011
As you may
have been advised by your NCRSA Academy
delegate the testing for this year’s
program will be held on Sunday 30
October, 2011.
If all members,
district delegates and club
representatives could circulate to
junior club members who may be
interested in undertaking this testing
it would be appreciated.
Softball
Queensland (SQ) have provided advice in
respect to selection of athletes and
have been advised that the testing will
be for athletes in the age grouping from
12 years of age be 31/12/2011 to 15
years of age as of 31/12/2011. Athletes
outside this age group provided they are
at least 11 and no older than 16 can be
tested for inclusion in District
Development Squads.
The testing will
be held at Caboolture Softball
Association Grounds, Dances Road
Caboolture from 9am on the 30th.
It is anticipated that the
testing should be completed by 12md.
Athletes
wishing to be tested will need to be at
the grounds from 8.00 a.m. to complete
necessary paperwork, alternatively
players wishing to undertake the testing
are welcome to complete the attached
medical and registration form and bring
with them to the venue at 8.30 a.m.
I have
attached a rough mud map of how the
grounds will be set up for the testing.
We will break the players participating
into five groups. These groups will
rotate through each of the tests, with
the beep test being completed by all
being tested as the last exercise of the
day. We will also need half a dozen
recorders to assist with the process.
SQ have advised
the NCRSA that they are only prepared to
offer our Academy one testing date at
this time and so it is important to have
all athletes wishing to undertake the
Academy program present on the allocated
date. As you are probably aware only
eligible Academy athletes are provided
with the opportunity to participate (in
the Queensland teams) at the National
Under 15 Academy Championships. SQ have
been asked to again host this event this
year, however the actual venue is yet to
be determined.
For further
assistance information on the program
and proposed involvement by District
Association development programs will be
available shortly.
